What’s in my data analysis blog?

Hello reader,

If you opened this blog to read more about data analysis, I can’t promise you there will be vital information for your current needs. What I can promise is that this blog is really going to be a collective of case studies on how data analysis has helped me in projects pertaining to my current line of work, testing new concepts with my personal narrative, and what I become inspired by and have looked further into that surrounds practices of data analysis.

Experience I’m starting out with right now comes equipped with several years of basic excel usage, pre-algebra math, introductory accounting knowledge and a whole lot of problem solving through my current retail job. That last one may not seem like much but there will be more to come of that.

As I drink my coffee before going into my retail job at Half Off Books, a bookstore I’ve worked at for the past 10 years, I think about how I can apply what I discover through data analysis. This blog will present itself as a means of building my portfolio for the future and I also hope to find other interested parties to learn more about other analytical applications that can be shared. You may still be wondering about that 10-year mark I mentioned and yes that is a long time for anyone. Luckily that hasn’t been the only thing I’ve been keeping busy with.

I happen to work as an in-home support provider taking care of an individual with cerebral palsy. Mr. Granillo is my roommate, and he happens to be a very easy-going guy. Living with him for the past 6 years has been a great blessing and opened many doors. This opportunity with him has helped me save up to start investing in real estate and in the past year I was able to buy two houses out of state. Yes, I plan on sharing data about that if anyone is interested. Looking forward to providing resources on that in the future to all the new investors out there!

A couple more things about me if you’re still reading is that I barely play the cello nowadays, enjoy video games, rock climbing, horseback riding, reading, baking, cooking, and financial conversations and of course my girlfriend. Anyways, I’ll try to keep the personal stuff to a minimum throughout my work, but I hope my blog becomes useful, inspiring or just interesting in the slightest. Bring data analysis to the table is my main goal. What I’m reading, applications I’m using and even who I find interesting. I’ll let you know. If there’s a comment you can leave, don’t hesitate to reach out unless you’re a Ukranian girl wanting to send photos then please follow the arrows to my spam folder.

Bye for now,

Jason Brown
